Job Description

Job Summary:

Lead, supervise and coordinate the activities of inventory management throughout the entire branch.

Responsible for the people manager responsibilities including: scheduling, training, coaching, discipline, performance management and evaluation, compensation management, recruitment and terminations.

Minimum Requirements:

Prefer BS/BA in business or related discipline OR requires 6+ years of related working experience in lieu of degree
Demonstrated knowledge of inventory tracking and counting mechanism principles
Valid Driver’s license with good driving record
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for selection, storage and movement of medical products
Demonstrated data integrity, analysis and reporting skills
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word and Access, ERP systems (including data analysis tools i.e. queries, pivot tables, etc.)
Proven customer or account management experience
Managerial experience leading an inventory team supporting internal and external customers
Must have demonstrated team leadership, communication, and talent evaluation skills
Understanding of a distribution and storage environment
Understanding of inventory value, chain of handling and resolving and following up on client inquiries
Proven success in implementing inventory related performance measures metrics and productivity analysis
Must be able to drive team productivity and develop individual relationships across the organization
Understanding of the impact of inventory across multiple demographics

Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to successfully communicate verbally and in writing
Must be able to lead and work in a team environment
Prefer demonstrated knowledge of the medical implant industry and hospital customer base

Must have the ability to work flexible hours, as needed to support the business needs

Responsibilities:

Consistently demonstrate a positive, constructive, and cooperative attitude in the business environment
Assist branch management by addressing issues when necessary
Provide phone support for inquiries from sales and healthcare professionals
Train and support new team members and other team members with problem resolutions and proper operations protocol
Engage, interact, and respond in a prompt, accurate, courteous and poised manner in order to encourage positive business relationships
Process all work in accordance with relevant working practices and standard operating procedures
Provide coaching, feedback and guidance to improve service levels, internal processes and customer support methodology
Provide support beyond standard hours as needed if call volume and/or workload require additional time
Support Sales Department by providing answers to questions generated by telephone, e-mails and fax. Research responses with sales.
Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
Determine charges for services requested, collaborate with Corporate Accounts Receivable for collection payments, and/or arrange for billing.
Manage; report and analyze branch operations metrics and productivity.
Manage best-practice implementation.
Track service levels and problem solve any discrepancies

Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location.
Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages and/or shipments.
Dispose of damaged or defective items following procedures
Pack and unpack items to be stocked.
Confer with personnel and stock procurement and availability
Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items.
Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies based on information from incoming requisitions.
Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Cycle count inventory in various hospital and office locations throughout territory; reconcile counts with company inventory logs; submit adjustments; responsible to count all branch inventory at least once per annual year.
Occasionally perform responsibilities in Hospital/Operating room setting.
Work with Branch management and sales to optimize inventory levels and utilization.
Implement and support Quality initiatives throughout branch.
Implement and oversee branch-wide procedures to maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system.
Understand and implement procedures to manage inventory shelf life and expiry records.

Act as key contact for related processes (developed through a combination of on the job experience and personal learning).
