Primary Purpose:

 

To assist in executing fieldwork and reporting phases of IT audits. For assigned audits, in coordination with the project manager, principal auditor and/or senior auditor, provide clients with high quality value-added audit and advisory services for all Sempra Energy regulated and non-regulated businesses.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct assigned audits of Information Technology operations and practices to ensure compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, economical and efficient use of resources and reliability and integrity of operating and financial information. Effectively document the results of the fieldwork such as business processes, test programs and test results. Ensure findings and recommendations are properly supported. Assist with assessing risks and recommending changes to improve IT controls and negotiate solutions or corrective action.
Assist in attaining department's annual performance goals, which include completing a specified number of company audits in a timely basis and within budget. Represent the department as a business partner that adds value and is willing to assist with all Sempra Energy activities. Assist with internal projects as assigned. Continually assess compliance with budget for assigned tasks. Work with senior, principal or project manager to identify and/or assess the need to expand budget if necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Information System, Computer Engineering or related field required.

Experience:

3 years audit or risk and controls experience (or equivalent training and/or experience).

Skills and Abilities:

Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
Ability to travel approximately 10-25% locally (San Diego and Los Angeles), nationally and potentially internationally (Latin America).

Licenses and Certifications:

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) required.
Other Professional certification (e.g., CISM, CISSP, CIA.) preferred.
Valid California Driver's License required.
