Job Description

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

Strategic planning process:

Facilitate project management and lead modules of the company’s annual strategic planning process.
Support the development of EIX Board strategy materials.
Coordinate strategy with financial planning (budgeting and forecasting).

Strategic analysis:

Coordinate or conduct research and information gathering on market, policy, technology, and competitive trends across electric industry, synthesizing key takeaways and impacts to our business.
Perform internal strategic assessments (e.g. SWOT analysis, benchmarking).
Develop insights, themes, hypothesis, or scenarios to inform our strategy.
Conduct deep dives on critical strategy topics, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.

Evaluation of new opportunities:

Bring strategy perspective and insights on innovation trends, changing customer segments, new business models, disruptive technologies, and early-stage companies/startups.
Collaborate with team’s sourcing, evaluation and validation of new business models/ideas or venture investment opportunities for EIX, by linking their value proposition with the broader strategy.
Assess strategic alignment of different large-scale growth opportunities monitored by EIX.

Strategic projects:

Conduct independent, in-depth analysis of complex business problems, and present findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
Lead strategic projects, organizing cross-functional teams, developing project scope, analyzing key issues, performing financial analysis, and identifying potential solutions and recommendations.
Develop implementation plans to execute strategies and transition projects into business for execution, as appropriate.

Qualifications

The essentials

Three (3) or more years of experience across strategy/management consulting, corporate strategy, or equivalent functional experience.

The preferred

Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related discipline.
Being comfortable in an unstructured work environment and able to cut through uncertainty to proactively move ideas forward.
Experience communicating complex analyses and information to senior management.
Experience, knowledge and/or a strong curiosity in energy, e-mobility, and clean technologies.
