The Role
The Crisis and Issues Communications Manager helps to protect DXC’s reputation and brand by monitoring and responding to issues and crises effectively and in real-time.
Part of the Global Communications organization, reporting to, and working in partnership with, the Director of Crisis and Issues Communications, the Crisis and Issues Manager will collaborate with regional communication leads, Crisis Management teams, and a wide range of business and functional leaders to effectively address the crisis as they arise, as well as creating a proactive issues management culture. This role requires a seasoned communicator who understands the nuances of a complex, global business, and can plan, create, and execute communications that will engage our stakeholders externally, as well as our internal colleagues.

The candidate should have a strong track record of developing comprehensive communication strategies, experience in crisis communications working for a global company, and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment. We are looking for a self-starter capable of taking on projects and providing sound advice and counsel to internal clients in line with company goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement appropriate communications strategies and approaches to protect DXC’s reputation
Develop, manage and coordinate crisis messaging to internal and external stakeholders.
Help develop and implement response communications processes and procedures
Provide crisis communications advice to key business stakeholders and regional marketing and communication teams
Help educate the business and regional organizations on the importance of issues/crisis communications
Contribute to the creation of a proactive issues/crisis management culture
Provide reports and analysis on key issues.
Qualifications and skills required:
Bachelor’s Degree in communications or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in corporate communications preferably an information technology company.
Experience working in a global company, with experience in managing communications for multiple countries and cultures
Previous experience managing issues or crises, including experience in monitoring and managing social media channels during a crisis
A proven integrated approach to handling multi-stakeholder communications with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across legal, government relations, human resources, investor relations, and other teams to ensure consistency of messaging and approach.
Ability to interact with multiple functions and levels within the organization, including senior stakeholders
Ability to operate under pressure within demanding timelines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and quality
Excellent listening, problem analysis, judgment, and decision-making skills
High-level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
Ability to work in a collaborative multinational environment
