Job Description
Position Summary:
The role of Class A Local Delivery Driver is responsible for the following actions:
Available to work on a pre-determine shift using slip seating tractor availability
Driver will plan trips based on factors such as: breaks, fuel stops, customer appointments, weather, traffic and construction, and city and rural driving conditions as well as managing unforeseen circumstances
Safely and efficiently loading and unloading product according to company and customer instructions
Completing log documentation on computer
May require overnight stays and Saturday delivery, when needed
Follow all government, company, and customer policies and regulations, including but not limited to, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, and DOL
Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Job Requirements:
· Must be 23 years of age or older
· Have two years verifiable over-the-road experience or local tractor trailer experience within the last seven years
· Hold a valid Class A Commercial License (Class A CDL) with the proper endorsements
· No more than one chargeable accident within the last three years
· No more than one moving violation ticket in the last three years
· No convictions of D.U.I., D.U.S., or open container in the last 7 years
· No positive controlled substance/alcohol tests from prior employer
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Forklift experience
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis
· General computer skills
· Good reading, math, and communication skills
