We are seeking a Senior Automation Architect/Engineer in our Thousand Oaks, CA headquarters or Tampa, FL or remote in the US to join our Automation team to help drive productivity through the company using technology to unlock opportunities to stop, optimize processes and then automate as appropriate

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build out automation engineering practices, standards, community by provide technical leadership to engineers creating a new culture around the automation demeanor
Define automation platform roadmap
Lead development on high profile and complex automation projects to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects by working closely with the cross functional team members (software development, business, IS, etc.)
Lead selected efforts to design, build, and develop rapid Proof-of-Concept (POC) automated solutions and services. Quickly and iteratively prove or disprove the concepts being considered.
Work with process subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand key process requirements and transform them into digital automated solutions
Collaborate with business partners to understand how automation can improve workflow and productivity
Synthesize requirements from clients, customers or end-users to develop the best automation solutions.
Work closely with other teams and Process Engineers to identify, stop, simplify business process waste to codify into automated solutions and platforms.
Build re-useable component that can expedite process to delivery
Provide leadership and engineering expertise along with delivery for end to end automations that span multiple system and need enterprise architecture mentality.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

You are leading from the front engaging with business functions across the company to identify bottlenecks in their business process using technologies
Partnering with strategy group at Amgen and business partners to drive process improvements and identify opportunities
Lead a team of automation engineers of internal staff and suppliers to drive these outcomes
Translate process automation opportunities into technical designs that can be automated by engineers
Provide demonstrations & articulate the significance of Process automation leveraging RPA, Cognitive or native capabilities of PaaS such as AWS, GCP, Azure etc.
Drive technology roadmap in Automation space

The Process Simplification and Automation team is part of the Digital technology and Innovation organization at Amgen that is focused on helping improve staff experience, unlock productivity and improving quality using technology to identify inefficient processes, foster simplification of processes and help automate these revised processes to unlock value. This is a highly visible team with a remit to help shape the future pipeline of Amgen products by unlocking value

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems and/or Computer Science experience

OR

Master’s degree and 6 year of Information Systems and/or Computer Science experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems and/or Computer Science experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems and/or Computer Science experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and/or Computer Science experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Process Automation and Engineering experience delivering value
Ability to implement various process automation tools such as UIPath, Automation Anywhere, Celonis, Docusign, MIRO etc.
Strong customer service focus with the demonstrable ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders and management. Demonstrate collaboration across all levels of the organization. Assertive and confident in raising action points with senior individuals with excellent spoken and written communication.
Fluent in Agile methodologies with respect to technology solutions and their development and timeline. Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master advantageous.
2+ years’ experience working with automation and process intelligence software (e.g., Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath, Celonis etc.). Knowledge of other Intelligent Automation platforms and software such as Machine Learning, Citizen Development, Business process Management.
5+ years of experience supporting business process analysis with business owners and SMEs across multiple geographically disbursed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong written and oral communication skills with scientific domain expertise to communicate effectively with various partners within the organization
Solid experience in business analysis and process mapping
Continuous improvement mentality (i.e. LEAN, Kaizen, etc.)
Experience working with Agile development methodologies (such as Sprint and Scrum) and DevOps
Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies, work multi-functionally in teams (internal and external)
3 – 5 years’ experience designing, developing, deploying, and operating RPA and end to end automated solutions/platforms across SaaS, Cloud and On-prem
Expertise in programming/scripting languages, including but not limited to: Java, C, C++, Swift/Objective C, Python, Go, C#, or JavaScript
Experience doing full stack development including infrastructure cloud services (Storage, VMs, Network, etc.) as well as application and user experience in a continuous CI/CD pipeline environment
Experience in and certifications for leading automation software platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.)
Experience with development and deployment of robotic process automation and other intelligent automation technology solutions
Experience in building machine learning, OCR and NLP solutions
Data analysis and reporting experience by using analytics, visualization and database technologies (PL SQL, Spotfire, Tableau, Python – NumPy, SciPy, Pandas)
Experience in relational database fundamentals
Good understanding of native cloud computing, design, development and security patterns for AWS, GCP, or Azure
Possess knowledge of functional support systems (e.g., Workday, SFDC, SAP)
Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of new platforms, languages, tools and technologies
