Position Description & Duties

Risk Management & Continuity Advisor for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s EH&S department at the company’s Houston, TX office reporting to the Resilience and Risk Manager.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Facilitate the Operations Risk Management program to drive appropriate mitigation of risks and ensure resilient operations
•    Administer and coordinate the Operational Risk Register, working with Risk Owners to ensure Risk Assessments are accurate and mitigation control actions are appropriate and effective
•    Coordinate the company Risk Assessment and Review process for Operational Risks; Capture and communicate Operational Risks for corporate Risk Register
•    Leverage the company risk assessment process to ensure identified risks to the company have a developed response plan or other mitigation measures; Ensure that associated plans are integrated with established company crisis and incident management framework
•    Work with cross-functional leaders and teams to ensure risk management programs are in alignment and have been consistently and effectively implemented; Provide input on performance measurements 
•    Assist in defining short and long-term strategy for Resilience and Risk initiatives including developing roadmaps with actionable plans, driving requirements for each initiative, working with cross-functional internal and external teams, and champion the execution and rollout of these initiatives with a focus on enhancing the protection of life, property, operations, and the company
•    In partnership with operations, develop risk-based asset profile for all operational locations and facilities, developing risk mitigation strategies with suitable crisis or incident response plans
•    Maintain situational awareness of key global developments related to crisis management issues, communicating information to enable informed decision making.  Develop company Threat Report with collaboration from other departments and ensure delivery to appropriate personnel
•    Provide crisis management support and guidance for non-pollution risks, such as but not limited to: personnel accountability; area or country evacuations; humanitarian assistance; missing persons; aviation; natural disaster recovery; business continuity and restoration
•    Manage the necessary network of contracted non-pollution response resources to ensure effectiveness and efficiency 
•    Ensure communication capabilities are available, accurate, and tested regularly, including the company emergency notification system and emergency conference bridges
•    Ensure process for personnel accountability (POB) for all locations is available in centralized, common location and accessible as needed, in an electronic, real-time format
•    Provide support and ensure travel risk information and warnings are delivered in a timely and efficient manner to employees travelling on company business
•    Assist in conducting impartial, transparent, and detailed After Action assessments of responses with the express purpose of identifying emergent risks or revising risk mitigation control actions 

Preferred Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
•    Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
•    Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred
•    7 - 10 years of HSE experience.
•    Oil and gas industry experience.
•    Incident Command System training preferred
•    Strong knowledge of industry and government HSE standards and regulations
•    Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•    The willingness and ability to travel to field locations in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
•    Solid problem solving skills and be recognized as results oriented
•    Effective interpersonal and team communication skills
•    The ability to be self-directed and self-motivated and the ability to be team player
•    Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer
•    Excellent communication and customer service skills
•    Ability to work well within an integrated multi-disciplinary team 
•    Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
•    Comfortable working with data and within systems.
•    Works well within fast-paced, high-stress situations.
