Lead and manage Staples, MN employees to meet 3M Supply Chain and Corporate goals in the areas of EHS, Quality, Service, Growth, and Cost Reduction
Provide and foster a safe, healthy work environment for all employees. Ensure compliance with all Federal/State/3M environmental and safety regulation
Drive sustainable improvements in operating cost and lead time through application of Lean Six Sigma, entitlement thinking, yield improvement, and plant productivity
Develop the workforce at all levels of the organization. Foster a culture of employee engagement and inclusion
Protect and enhance 3M’s intellectual property, including process capabilities
Define and implement strategic direction for the Staples site.
Manage Capital Investment: Capacity, Renewal and Technology Planning
Represent 3M in community affairs as appropriate and foster excellent public relations in the Staples community
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or related field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline (Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related) (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Five (5) years machine shop management/supervisory experience
Knowledge and experience in production management, lean manufacturing, materials control, maintenance, environmental health and safety, and quality control
Excellent oral and written communication.
Strategic Planning - ability to develop and drive the long-term vision for the site
Results oriented and strong execution skills
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Effective decision making with the ability to influence others
