PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The position will be responsible for administering and processing real estate and business personal property tax bills.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
The successful PTA will be primarily responsible for the Property Tax Billing process. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: receiving tax bills, identifying the corporate legal entity corresponding to the tax bill; inputting all appropriate tax bill fields into the ONESource Property Tax Management System; identifying and retrieving missing tax bills; generating Check Requests; overseeing the corporate tax bill approval process; inputting approved check requests into JD Edwards; process checks for final payment; and track delivery and receipt of tax payments. For legal entities having property tax escrows, verify sufficient funds are available on G/L; notify and authorize escrow company of upcoming payment; prepare and enter a JE into JD Edwards for escrow payment; update ONESource payment has been authorized; and verify that the escrow payment successfully received and posted by jurisdiction. The position is also responsible for communicating internally with Finance regarding escrows; Lease Accounting for tenant billing processing; Financial Reporting regarding the monthly property accrual, budgeting and forecasting process. The position will occasionally assist Tax Managers with internal and external tax billing inquires, tax bill and assessment data collection and assist with the annual budgeting process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A degree in business/accounting, finance, real estate, or equivalent is a prerequisite to qualify for this job.
Demonstrate/possess excellent written and oral presentation skills along with sound analytical and problem solving skills.
Possess a proficient understanding and practical use of spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Familiarity with the ONESource Property Tax Management system (formerly e-property tax) preferred but not required.
Must possess a self-motivated, self-starting work ethic; an active interest and willingness to learn and grow within the organization; the ability to work well independently and in a team environment; and be willing to assist other team members on larger assignments/projects or excess work load as needed.
Overtime may be required at times.
