Position Summary

 

The Procurement Manager will be the principal owner of the ABM vehicle fleet program including: financial analysis, reporting, sourcing and execution strategy, stakeholder management, supplier negotiations, and ongoing supplier relationship related to vehicle acquisition, planning, maintenance, repairs, fuel cards, titles and registrations, and Telematics.

The role is expected to partner closely with key stakeholders across ABM’s operations, finance and safety & risk management teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure that the program is responsive and proactive in its support of ABM business requirements.

The Fleet Manager should be results-oriented, and be a strong communicator who is able to establish strong, long-lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  The Fleet Manager is resilient and enjoys interacting daily with colleagues at various levels within and outside the organization, while influencing others to meet a wide range of business objectives.  The Manager should be a confident negotiator who partners well to continuously drive improvement in business partner performance to exceed contractual and business expectations.

 

Core Responsibilities

Align with operations to anticipate and plan upcoming needs to ensure operational efficiencies; manage internal and external reporting processes, partnering with Fleet Management Company (FMC), Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and operations leadership.  
Develop and execute a comprehensive asset management strategy for the addition, replacement and disposal of vehicles; manage the related budgeting and forecasting for operational changes within operations. 
Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.     
Identify with implementation of cost reduction, customer and employee initiatives that drive value and support key company goals and strategic objectives; Focus on cost management and savings efforts in partnership with FMC.
Execute and enforce corporate strategies and policies.
Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance, utilization, fuel and inventory data for review by operations leaders and local management.
Partner with FMC and Risk/Safety teams to reduce accidents, vehicle citations, and improve overall vehicle/driver safety through the introduction of a proactive driver safety program, including reporting solutions for managing fleet/driver performance; develop KPIs and dashboards to track progress.
Develop internal and external communications channels to keep abreast of industry changes.
Analyze reports for variances from forecasted, budgeted, and benchmarked performance.

Key Capabilities for success:

Strong communication and internal stakeholder management skills
The ability to work independently with manager supervision from a different office location
Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling
Strategic mindset to maximize planning and lead cost savings initiatives

Minimum Requirements

2-5 years’ experience in Fleet Management or a similar role or responsibility
College degree or equivalent work experience
Telematics experience preferred
