About the Position 

We are currently looking for System Engineer to join our team in Akron. On this position you will:

Support the Innovation Technology team: by supporting technical Tire Information Systems developments for commercial and consumer applications.
Be part of a global technology development team. 
Understand business requirements and deliver technology that meets performance, cost, and quality standards. Support development of Goodyear's strategy in commercial and consumer tire information systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Create and maintain system and software requirements specifications for embedded systems and larger systems (including cloud applications), for stand-alone and cross-functional projects
Analysis of stakeholder requirements, and derive and define system and software requirements
Coach and mentor others in requirements analysis and engineering
Moderate requirements elicitation sessions with internal and external stakeholder
Support development team and external suppliers in understanding and deriving the requirements
Support test engineering in deriving test cases from requirements 

Required Education and Experience 

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or similar field. 

Masters degree desired 

7+ years hands-on experience in requirements analysis, engineering and management, ideally for embedded systems 

4+ years in the automotive industry

Skills and Abilities

Ability to coach, mentor and motivate others.
Strong understanding of classical E/E products development lifecycle (V model).
Very good understanding of agile development frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), and ability to combine agile and classical requirements analysis approaches.
Knowledge of Automotive SPICE and/or CMMI.
Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
Knowledge of Requirements Management tools (like Polarion, DOORS).
Experiences with formal notations like UML and SysML.
Experiences with system design and modeling tools (like Sparx Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody).
Experience with methods and tools for hardware and/or software development for embedded systems and/or sensors.
Experience in SW development and/or model-based design.
Familiarity with telematics and RF data transmission.
Self-motivated, accepts difficult challenges and think out of the box. Adaptability & versatility are key.
Enthusiastic team player, self-learning with interest in automotive world.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Travel domestically/internationally up to 25%.
