The Event Streams platform focuses on helping the Discovery DTC business understand our customers better. This is a critical mission to our success in building the best digital products that customers love. We know our customers, and we own the vision of how data is collected, validated, segmented and activated downstream. We’re not only making our digital products more personalized but also empowering our product teams to experiment and make decisions on product features based on data collected.
Our team leverages AWS to build pipelines and create data stores as the source of truth. We are responsible for several pipelines that utilize Kinesis, S3, Airflow, Docker and Kubernetes. We deliver on roadmap requirements while also ensuring time for engineering driven items and improved operations. We deliver for the organization, believe in data privacy, ensure data integrity, and build for reliability and security.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer who wants to help build our data solutions, apply your coding skills, leverage your AWS experience, and help mentor junior engineers. In this meaningful role, you will solve complex problems, develop scalable solutions, and add to a global team that believes in working together and having fun.
Qualifications
You have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science
You have a minimum of 8 years of software development experience
You have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience with AWS services
Your core language is Python, and you have a proficiency to quickly pick up other languages
You’ve designed multiple processes to extract, transform and load data to multiple sources
You have built and shipped stable data pipelines and scalable feature changes to production
You are a collaborative leader that makes other engineers and team members around you more productive
You are an effective communicator as exemplified by your technical documentation and interactions with stakeholders and teams
You solve business problems with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices
You can effectively represent the technical decisions from your team to senior stakeholders
You’re not afraid to jump in and help complete any task on the team
You want a chance to create something new in a rapidly growing team
You enjoy mentoring others and bringing people along
You do not have an ego and enjoy working on a team
Experience Giving you an Edge
Experience with Airflow, Docker, EC2, S3, or Kubernetes
Experience with tools such as DataBricks or Snowflake
