Work in a fast paced buying office environment for a major retail department store. A Corporate Buyer will monitor sales, inventory levels, trends, profitability and participate with other buying staff and management to initiate the best direction for the product purchase decisions and distribution within Dillard's stores. The position is an Senior level executive responsibility requiring demonstrable ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in carrying out the Company’s business objectives. Candidates will provide executive level advice in reporting on, analyzing, evaluating, advising management, creating plans for and participating as a management team member in determining and negotiating plans and course of action related to assigned brand(s).
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze available data to establish, create, prepare and maximize effectiveness of reports/recaps/business plans for assigned brand(s).
Review and analyze data and reports, including sales, orders, order tracking, sales to stock ratio and trends in order to determine, evaluate, compare, and effectively recommend courses of action based on analysis of brand performance.
Create assortment plans for stores based on sales plans.
Analyze fashion trends and effectively recommend future product purchases to create and develop collections for brand(s)
Manage vendor performance and hold vendors accountable to plans in order to achieve financial goals.
Investigate, determine, negotiate, decide on and implement appropriate resolution of vendor complaints and issues.
Create, evaluate, effectively recommend, participate in negotiating and deciding on, and implement opportunities to expand existing brands and establish new brands.
Review replenishment by door and maximize product performance and minimize liabilities.
Plan long and short-term business objectives by developing relationships with vendors to optimize brand names and fashion.
Prepare and effectively recommend company action on marketing and advertising proposals related to assigned brand(s).
Professionally communicate and provide consultation and expert advice to high level executives from within the Dillard’s organization and vendor partners.
Develop, negotiate and effectively recommend company policies and practices for assigned brand(s).
Carry out assignments related to assigned brands in support of business plans.
REQUIRED SKILLS
4 year of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree or higher (required)
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Entrepreneurial spirit
Strong business analytical and math skills
