Job Description

Job Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will conduct mechanical rebuilds, assembly and disassembly, troubleshooting, repairs, and operation / monitoring / sampling / cleaning of various automotive, commercial, and industrial equipment in a testing lab environment
Work may include overtime throughout the week, and may occasionally include weekends and holidays, as required based on business need
The candidate will be required to attend training on test rig assembly and diagnostics, either on-site or at off-site locations

Job Requirements

Lifting and carrying objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, including containers of oil, engine parts, and test stand equipment 
Moving heavy items, such as assembled engines on appropriate carts and full 55 gallon drums
Climbing ladders and stairs, and handling automotive and industrial fluids, such as fuel, solvents, grease, and lubricating oils 
The job will also require the wearing of personal protective equipment, including fire-resistant clothing, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes
The candidate must be capable of adhering to uncompromised safety rules and be able to work with minimal supervision
Some occasional travel may be required

Qualifications and Experience Required

Formal automotive and/or medium / heavy duty truck ASE-certified training courses is strongly desired, but equivalent certification or experience will be considered
Preference for on-the-job experience as an automotive / diesel mechanic or repairing and overhauling hydraulic pumps, motors and compressors
Must be able to follow detailed instructions and complex procedures for assembly, disassembly, operation, sampling, and cleaning of test equipment
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the diagnosis of all types of engine operating issues, particularly electronic fuel and ignition systems, are desired
Training and experience in electronic engine control systems and diagnostics are preferred
