The Packaging Specialist will be working under supervision of the Manager Warehouse Logistics to develop packaging standards and help implement methods to secure internal and external shipping of aerospace components at Bell Helicopter's Fort Worth Logistics Center. 

Position responsibilities: 

Plans and directs activities concerned with design and development of protective packaging containers: Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special-handling and safety requirements, and type of materials required for container. 
Consults with establishment's purchasing and production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging. 
Develops or directs development of sketches, specifications, samples, and written analyses of proposed packaging in order to present design for approval. 
As business needs require, will confer with customers or sales representatives to facilitate creation of contracts. 
Provides solutions to employer or customers on efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, utiization of sealing and fastening devices and audits for methods requirements adherence.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Packaging Engineering or related discipline strongly preferred
At least 2 years of experience in design and implementation of innovative packaging solutions, or related experience
Multiple Textron business unit experience is strongly preferred
Proven success in design of creative package solutions
Extensive knowledge of non-hazardous and hazardous shipping requirements
Proven success using CAD CAM design tools in creation of packaging solutions
Proficient user of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc)
Able to communicate both written and oral
