Job Description
Overview
This position will be a Corporate Staff Accountant on our Operations Accounting team. The candidate will work closely with our field operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of their financial results. They will achieve this through effective communication of GAAP and Corporate Policy, analytical review of monthly financial statements, participating in the month end close process, creating and reviewing journal entries, ensuring completion of assigned controls, as well as performing and reviewing account reconciliations.
Duties
•Responsible to review & analyze balance sheets and income statements for a select group of operations
•Interface with division accountants to understand activity charged to each operation
•Prepare account analyses and necessary journal entries to adjust account balances
•Reconcile certain general ledger accounts
•Create and post journal entries
•Review bank reconciliations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related discipline required.
Experience
•Able to maintain work priorities in an environment with multiple concurrent tasks and ad hoc assignments
•Able to work in a team-oriented environment
•Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related discipline required
•1-2 years of practical experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
•Knowledgeable of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications
