Job Summary
Responsible for the implementation of technology within an organization and directs the work of systems and supervisors, business analysts, application developers, support specialists and other computer-related employees and contractors. This individual will usually be an experienced worker with technical expertise coupled with an understanding of business and management principles. Duties within the role are ultimately dependent on the organizational area.
Key Accountabilities
May provide direction to application developers, database administrators, systems analysts and design specialists as designated on various projects from internal or external partners. Develops and implements performance measures to assess individual and team performance. Based upon organizational unit needs, the role may be interchangeable with other managers within the IT organization.
Establishes a business relationship with client management in ITS to assure a thorough understanding of business drivers within the overall business climate at DTE Energy.
Manages and monitors work activities and day to day business operations to ensure on time and in budget solutions to client needs while meeting organizational and corporate goals.
Responsible for operational planning of the Information Technology organization.
Presents recommendations to enhance the business area's functionality and operating effectiveness.
Responsible for strategic/business planning in support of the related business units and translates plans into process/system requirements.
Must have an enterprise focus and ability to balance with individual business unit needs.
Keeps abreast of technology trends and DTE Energy's stated direction, select technology platforms that are appropriate and cost beneficial; and establish other business relationships with key technical dependent industries and organizations to support the application of technology to specific business areas
Manages the implementation of new technology to the ITS Organization and consults on application projects to insure the application is utilizing the technology appropriately and ensures the application will integrate into the infrastructure.
Must also work closely with other managers in ITS, both Business Process and IT, to deliver effective solutions.
Performs all duties in accordance with DTE’s safety rules, operating regulations and practices, reports unsafe conditions and practices and promotes a clean, safe workplace.
Promotes continuous improvement philosophy and methodology that results in a continuous improvement culture within Information Technology. May utilize a variety of Operating System principles and tools to facilitate effective solutions that improve process design in all areas of the business.
This position may require gas FERC training
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Technology related experience inclusive of 2 years of formal/informal supervisory and/or project leadership experience.

Bachelor's degree in an information technology related discipline
At least 5-7 years of previous managing IT operations experience
Previous experience in managing On-Prem and Cloud based IT infrastructure (Servers, Virtualization, Storage, Backup, Data Center), and knowledge including a understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure/services and delivery models, storage concepts, networking basics, etc.
Previous experience in the design and managing of Cloud-based infrastructure solutions working alongside Cloud Architects and service domains (e.g., Web, Database, Storage, Networking, Security)
Strong understanding of information technology automation principles and practices, including popular tools such as VRA, Terraform, DevOps, CI/CD and Agile.

Broad understanding of DTE industry, e.g. emerging technology industry standards, support services, business applications, systems design, and systems integration and an in-depth knowledge of Process & systems associated with area of responsibility.
Organizational skills and strategic and operational planning and budget experience.
Communicates effectively, ability to influence and build relationships to foster a positive work environment and drive change.
Ability to foresee, present, plan and execute IT opportunities in conjunction/on behalf of the business unit.
Capable of delivering world class IT solutions and eliciting support for acceptance of new technology and support services within the organization.
Knowledge of Operating System methodologies and tools is a plus.
