Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The role of the SIP Intern is to support to the Technology Strategy Innovation and Planning team by delivering a high level of quality research, analysis, and recommendations for project-oriented analysis of Invesco’s emerging technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Perform independent monitoring and research activity to support our strategic scenario framework, which includes collecting, analyzing and synthesizing relevant technology trends from licensed and unlicensed news sources as well as blogs, vlogs, newsletters, and podcasts
Work in industry research platforms such as CB Insights to create customized feeds and use information to be included in report outs
Identify and share noteworthy insightful materials
Document trend developments using Excel and Power BI tools and ensure that dashboards are up-to-date and monitoring information can be pulled on demand
Provide information synthesis and take notice of outliers and anomalies to trends and raise with team
Work with Product Owners and Strategists to create weekly/monthly/quarterly strategic views for report out to Technology executives and beyond (STS and business)
Contribute to weekly Strategic Intelligence newsletter
Contribute content to periodic white paper deliverables and help coordinate sharing across appropriate internal and external communication channels
Assist with other ad-hoc department-wide projects as needed
Work Experience / Knowledge:
General investment/industry knowledge across asset classes
Strong affinity and knowledge of emerging technologies (blockchain, distributed ledger, digital assets, decentralized finance,big data, machine learning, deep learning, APIs, Web 3.0, and embedded/open finance)
Excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office suite (Windows, MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI)
Strong quantitative skills and detail oriented
Ability to work under time pressure
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals including both internal and external contacts required
Excellent organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
