In this job, you’ll work directly with SCE’s non-residential pumping customers, primarily in the agricultural and water utilities industry. The services provided by SCE’s Hydraulic Services department are intended to assist SCE’s agriculture and water utility customers improve equipment reliability, reduce equipment downtime, and improve energy costs. As a Process Technical Senior Specialist, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions, and create cleaner air for everyone. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

Perform field analysis/pump testing of customer pumping sites using specialized equipment at the request of SCE customers. The test equipment used will gather various measurements such as power, pressure, water levels, and flow of water and other fluids to determine the overall efficiency of customers’ pumping facilities
Enter data and field observations into SCE data systems to record and generate detailed customer reports.
Develop and communicate expert and unbiased recommendations, often providing customers with actionable strategies that result in lower pumping (energy) costs.

Qualifications

The essentials

Five (5) or more years of hands-on field experience in electrical theory, water operations or industrial plant operations in one of more of the following areas:

Performing hydraulic efficiency tests, qualified electrician, evaluating operational energy efficiency of equipment, facilities, and processes, experience troubleshooting and analyzing electrical metering and supply in an agricultural/industrial/commercial environment

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. 
Able to routinely lift and carry a toolbox that typically weighs between 20 and 40lbs.
Valid driver’s license.

The preferred

Bachelor’s or higher in an Engineering or science-related field.
Proficient with Microsoft suite of systems including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and MS Teams. 
Experience performing hands-on field analysis of water pumping systems, identifying customer and business problems and creation of recommendations that address identified problems.
Certificates: Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM), State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Distribution 2, Treatment 2 or higher.

You should know…

Effective January 2022, this position’s work mode is Hybrid.  The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
