This role will lead the technical activities of a cross functional team on different types of programs including new product development, production, repair and product support, and Internal Research and Development programs. This position will work closely with Program Manager, Engineering discipline managers, Manufacturing department and other departments as necessary to expedite project completion and facilitate the overall operation of project team. This role acts as the primary technical point of contact for the customer.

Our state-of-the-art facility was built in 2011 and showcases the manufacturing area in the center of the building, bringing focus and attention to our mission-critical products and manufacturing talent. The manufacturing area includes; temperature and humidity controlled assembly areas, ESD sensitive floors, DOD Secret cleared rooms, a Test and Integration tower, Optical and Laser test ranges, Environmental and Qualification Test capabilities, Hydrostatic pressure test systems, an anechoic test chamber, 1,800 square feet of clean room space for FOD-sensitive optical assembly, and more! The facility also features an open-office work environment and a full-service eat-in cafe!

Essential Functions:

Facilitate the overall operation and performance of a project team.
Provides coordination between resource managers/supervisors and Program Manager.
Provide technical leadership acting as an IPT Lead working with a Chief System Engineer on issues related to subcontractors, suppliers and customers, supports management of the technical risks and opportunities to optimize program performance.
Ensure that all technical contractual obligations or project baseline requirements are fulfilled, reviews program documentation and other work products created by the program team.
Work with Program Manager and Lead Engineers to assure adherence to cost, schedule and quality requirements.
Provide timely status updates with milestones, issues with plan of resolution to management team
Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and techniques.
Prepare and monitor engineering project team schedules, plans and budgets, competent in understanding and reporting project metrics.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers.
Coordinate preparation of work breakdown structures, task descriptions, basis of estimates and other resources required to perform cost estimating.
Adhere to Quality Systems Manual and applicable Standard Work Instructions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or Computer System Engineering or related technical degree
Multi-Disciplined Team Lead Experience 4+ years after receiving Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Additional Skills:

Minimum of 4 years of design, and 2 years of multi-discipline leadership role (Project Engineer, IPT, etc).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
