JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for overseeing the Front Line Supervisors on daily maintenance tasks while enforcing health, safety, and efficiency.The role is expected to serve as a mentor that observes and coaches the job performance of Front-Line Supervisors and represented personnel within the Hard Trades Shop. This position provides leadership and direction to the Hard Trades Department
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that personnel adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures and oversees the overall safety performance of Hard Trader Department
Ensure high risk jobs receive additional oversight
Enforces quality control of general installation / construction practices and mechanical repairs performed on process equipment and piping circuits
Develops, monitors, and maintains the skills of a qualified workforce through selection of personnel, training, qualification testing, and team building
Ensures effective planning and execution of Safe, Quality and Efficient Maintenance Work
Leads personnel in identifying root causes of reliability issues and follows the appropriate steps to resolve them
Provides feedback to Operations and Turnaround Scheduling/Planning regarding the progress of maintenance work and costs, schedule status, and plan effectiveness
Supports the site within the Execution Lead role for turnaround events
Attends daily and weekly scheduling meetings to ensure all issues are effectively communicated (with various organizational levels) for overall maintenance efficiency
Resolves administrative and employee issues in a timely manner via coordination with the Front Line Supervisor
Enforces maintenance excellence to reduce costs within the organization
Develops and manages an annual budget for the Hard Trade Shop effectively
Provides input to the Procurement Department regarding vendor contracts
Drives the Health, Safety, and Environmental process between Front Line Supervisors and the hourly workforce
Interface with department managers to ensure accurate representation of execution status
Set and maintain performance expectations with site personnel, in full alignment with operational strategy, including safety, financial and quality targets.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of refinery work experience required
Line-management experience required
Available to work weekends and holidays as needed
Willing to travel to support other sites within the circuit
Familiarity with industry process safety and environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies as well as knowledge of basic refinery processes, reliability principles, refining economics and basic budgeting and scheduling required
