PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that all applications run smoothly, and all business inquiries are properly addressed, IT Application Support Analysts perform and assist in a variety of tasks. The IT Application Support Analyst role includes the following but is not limited to:
Have a broad and extensive understanding of the overall SAP system landscape
Have or gain a general understanding of the PBF SAP add on components business processes, such as ReadSoft and Ariba (contracts and sourcing)
PBF will provide outside or internal training for functionality / systems as needed
Perform business relationship management across several functions of the business, with the focus on team-oriented engagement
Support IT department operations / procedures and best practices by creating, editing, and distributing IT-related documents
Assist in improving, documenting, and ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implementing best practices for achieving support objectives
Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to departmental initiatives
Communicate scheduled outages and maintain SAP IT Applications calendars
Demonstrable experience in learning new software that integrates with SAP
Assist and guide other functional support analysts with projects as required
Step in and assist the SAP Support Manager with day to day operations
Ability to oversee escalations, assess problems, prioritize and proactively problem solve
Demonstrated understanding of SAP configuration and system design with the ability to effectively communicate design requirements to development team members
Extensive understanding of integration and touch points among core SAP modules and internal and external third-party integrated systems
Work with Business Analyst Team to develop a detailed plan for test planning and test execution cycles
Process and Review test scripts to assure consistency and quality
Have an understanding of SAP Security / Role design
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent overall experience
Experience in a Business Analyst / Liaison role
5+ years of applicable hands on business experience in an ERP Support or ERP Business role (preferably SAP)
Strong business acumen and an understanding of the end to end business processes (Order to Cash and Procure to Pay)
Ability to support and mentor functional support analysts
Strong organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work
Flexibility: able to adapt to different people and work assignments
Strong interpersonal and project/time management skills
Ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Ability to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously
High attention to detail
Demonstrated team-oriented mindset
Ability to work with varying levels of management
