RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with business teams and leverage a wide array of statistical and machine learning/ AI methods to drive actionable business insights and facilitate data-driven decisions.
Build machine learning models through the entire life cycle, from design through data processing, feature engineering, training, evaluation, testing, and deployment into production
Work cross-functionally to identify business opportunities for data science and develop feasible solutions using advanced analytics techniques.
Work with complex and large data sets from disparate sources to extract meaningful insights and ensemble modeling data sets
Research new methodologies and tools when the need arise to provide the most appropriate solution to a problem
Become expert on key internal and external data sources. Find opportunities to use new data sources/features to improve existing or develop new data science models.
Summarize and communicate relevant findings to business stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Work with the business teams to set a clear vision and direction for experiments and models.
Collaborate with software developers to plan and construct the architecture surrounding model deployment
Follow and enhance data science best practices including coding and documentation standards, project peer and code review, and ensure results reproducibility
QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of hands-on data science experience with a deep technical background in applied statistical and machine learning methods
Experience driving complex data science projects that have influenced company decision making from ideation through production
Strong ability to translate business problems into data science use cases and design creative solutions
Experience manipulating complex high dimensional data sets to extract and communicate meaningful information as well as to engineer useful features
Proven ability to work independently, solve problems in a timely manner, and adapt to change
Strong ability to translate complex data science findings into insights and communicate them to others with different expertise
Strong SQL skills and experience with writing complex queries and working with databases
Strong programming skills in Python or R and advanced knowledge of commonly used statistical, machine learning and data visualization libraries
Ability to research new tools and techniques and implement solutions that level up our data science capabilities
Understand underlying scientific experimental setup, process, and analysis and to facilitate effective communication
A Master’s or Ph.D. degree, or B.S. plus equivalent experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning/AI or related fields
Experience with AWS or cloud computing is a plus
