This role in summary

 The Senior Heat Transfer Engineer positions will be located on the Heat Transfer team, within the Performance Subsystem team - Laundry. The Engineer will lead the delivery of global subsystem modules and attributes that integrate seamlessly into new or existing dryers around the world. They will also work to develop the strategy of new and innovative features that delight our customers. This engineer will be the key focal point for specifying design solutions for dryer thermal, airflow, or hydraulic systems.

Your responsibilities will include

Heat Transfer modules and component development for air vented, condensing and heat pump dryers
Optimize appliance drying performance through module development and parameterization. 
Own the module or attribute technology roadmaps and manage key inputs such as complexity reduction, attribute requirements, drawing updates, and cost & quality to ensure the proper strategy is in place.  
Understand the critical module parameters that contribute to system-level attribute requirements (functional decomposition).
Understand physics with a focus on thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
Support new product design from concept development to execution.
Strong partnership with the drying cycle development team to enable the system-level performance attributes.
Develop multiple concepts and utilize Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), design verification plans, and risk assessment tools to assist in decision making.
Develop new and improve existing test methods and test plans for performance validation.
Develop and capture knowledge required to deliver module-level excellence
Technical project management: Schedule, Scope, Risk management related to modules and components owned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 
3+ years in part and assembly design ownership
3+ years of experience designing and analyzing thermal, airflow, or hydraulic systems 

Preferred Requirements

A Master’s degree with an emphasis in thermal systems 
5+ years in part and assembly design ownership
5+ years of experience designing and analyzing thermal, airflow, or hydraulic systems 
Black Belt/Lean/Six Sigma experience
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to communicate and drive high-level agreement globally with cross-team and cross-functional partners
Strong sense of accountability and personal commitment
