This person will be responsible for bridging the gap between the software and hardware/process worlds of 3D printing with a good grasp of the printing process, computational physics and AI.  An individual contributor that will collaborate both with the hardware/process teams in helping design next generation hardware, and software teams in helping develop new sensing and controls strategies to ensure process reliability and part quality.

Key Skills:

1)      Solving complex electro-thermo-fluid-mechanical systems through computer modeling (using Matlab, Python, C, C++ etc..). Familiarity with multiphysics software packages such as COMSOL, OpenFOAM etc..

2)      Implementing machine learning, computer vision algorithms to model hardware/process data including image, video, spatio-temporal sensor data.  Expertise in using deep learning AI packages such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc...

3)      Subsystem integration associated with jetted printing systems, having deep knowledge 3D printing systems (including polymer, metal etc..).

4)      System optimization of printing process in new products, involving the application of disciplines such as image generation, image analysis, measurement, inspection and closed loop control. 

5)      Coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams to develop and deliver solutions on the program schedules.

6)      Participate in partnered relationships and projects. Projects may involve interfacing with other external design teams, design partners, and vendors to define and meet associated specifications and deliverables.

7)      Use of process map, system models, design of experiments, and data analysis techniques to establish critical parameters and design specifications that enable product performance goals.

8)      Translation of business team requirements into technical solutions which can be executed by cross-functional engineering team.

9)      Plan, conduct and analyze experiments to define and optimize system performance. 

10)   Familiarity with drafting of patents.
