Job Description

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Daily management of the Accounting department, including:
     o Plant cost and general accounting, including labor/payroll reporting, inventory, and accounts payable
     o Month-end financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
     o Internal Control Program including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and ensuring Corporate, Division and local policies are operating effectively
• Research accounting issues and provide financial analysis as required
• Analyze information and communicate opportunities to reduce cost and maximize profit
• Maintain proactive involvement with accounting and operations management to identify areas for improved efficiency, cost reduction, and optimal inventory levels
• Train, develop, and retain well qualified staff through the execution of plans that include recruitment, internal promotion, cross training, and evaluation
• Maintain effective oral and written communications with other members of the management team at all levels
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA or CMA.  MBA highly preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with a background in manufacturing and cost accounting as well as managing people.
• Must be confident, hands-on self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
• Must be able to survey the business and operational environment and identify improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.  Must be able to motivate, lead, and develop employees.  Must be results oriented with strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to perform and direct sophisticated financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to work with and relate to all levels, including senior operations managers.
• Must be proficient in the use of windows based programs including Excel, Power Point, Access, and Word.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position with or without accommodation.
