Primary Job Function:

The Value Partnership Scientist (VPS) will lead the tactical execution of customized evidentiary solutions needed by the National & Regional Value Engagement Scientists (VES), while also establishing cross-functionally aligned value-based strategies across targeted therapeutic areas to help secure, maintain or enhance patient access within AbbVie’s prioritized US payer customers.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Partner with VES to maximize their ability to deliver high impact fit-for-purpose customer partnerships, customization of real-world evidence (RWE) and other innovative value-based initiatives / contracts for prioritized US payer customers across AbbVie’s portfolio with emphasis in Immunology, Neuroscience and Oncology.

This includes:

Consultatively shaping US payer account strategies and business priorities / challenges into aligned actionable research / analytics 
Leading the development, execution, and packaging of customized evidentiary solutions for prioritized US payer customers
Developing methodology and protocols to ensure consistency across data analytics and customers 
Working with the RWE analytics team on execution of analytics
Effectively packaging evidence and obtain the necessary approvals for use (when appropriate)
Evaluating and executing on customer research partnership and value-based contracting (VBC) opportunities

Collaborate with HEOR Strategy Therapeutic Area Scientists and cross-functional stakeholders to establish AbbVie’s value-based strategies & tactics across targeted therapeutic areas (Immunology, Neuroscience and Oncology) including:

Establishing value-based US payer strategies and tactics that include customer research partnerships based on our payer business needs and challenges
Elevating payer launch opportunities through a deep understanding of payer needs and aligned strategies
Packaging of evidence into consumable messages consistent with our customers business
Supporting critical tactics necessary to proactively prepare for VBC discussions including:

Identification of product value drivers / differentiators
Establishment of key payer-related value metrics from which VBC offerings can be created
Operational design development of VBC  

Develop & implement an innovative strategy to drive future engagement with payers in regards to data analytics and research partnerships
Develop and implement a learning plan to upskill the HEOR department on US payer landscape

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biostatistics or related discipline (MS, MPH, PharmD, PhD) required
Minimum of 6+ years of experience conducting HEOR Research is required with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
Knowledge of the US healthcare, payer, policy environment including trends in value-based research and risk sharing models
Ability to translate customer challenges/opportunities into robust evidence deliverables using innovative methodologies
Track record for executing customer research collaborations
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in rapidly changing environment
Advanced communication (written and verbal) and relationship development/management skills across multiple levels within an organization
Possesses advanced business analytic skills and innovative problem-solving skills
Strong ability to execute independently and effectively prioritize key business needs 
Travel – position requires up to 20% travel
