Job Description

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.
 
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Specialist.  The Mechanical Specialist provides daily support for the Eastern Gulf Coast Operations Region with resolving mechanical issues. 

The Mechanical Specialist must be:

Knowledgeable of NGL fractionation, natural gas production and processing, NGL and natural gas storage and pipelines systems.
Proficient in the installation, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of rotating equipment including: natural gas and diesel reciprocating engines; natural gas and steam turbines: centrifugal, reciprocating and axial flow compressors and pumps; blowers; fans and expanders, electric motors and generators.
Knowledgeable of vibration analysis, machine shop operations, dynamic balancing, precision machinery alignment techniques.
Able to provide shop inspections on mechanical equipment being repaired and detail the scope of work required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications.

Ability to work with Operations and Maintenance Technician, Engineers, Supervisors and Managers on scheduling, planning, repairing and estimating the cost of time and materials on projects and provide support in resolving complicated mechanical problems. 
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Mechanical/Machinist Degree and/or Technical School Certifications or at least 15 years Mechanical experience required.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
Possession of a strong commitment to personal and job safety.
Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100 foot pounds of torque. 
Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations and possess basic computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
Must have good decision making skills and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently as well as the ability to maintain good working relationships within a team environment.
Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
Must have reliable means of contact for call-out purposes; willingness to work overtime and handle call-outs. 
Will be required to provide understandable and legible reports.
Must have good organizational skills, good customer relations skills.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with other corporate and field personnel.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors; in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
Required to climb about equipment and work in confined areas and at various heights.
Perform alignment of rotating equipment either with dial indicators or laser equipment.
Check pipe strain on equipment and instruct maintenance staff or contractors as how to correct issues when found.
Troubleshoot pump mechanical seal problems.
Troubleshoot reciprocating gas compressor issues.
Troubleshoot natural gas engine performance issues.
Troubleshoot centrifugal pump vibrations and performance issues.
Ability to set work schedules and priorities and willing to travel and support various facilities in the Eastern Gulf Coast Operations Region.
Will require the use of a company vehicle, purchasing card, cell phone and laptop computer and responsible for its use in  accordance to EPCO policies and procedure.

The Petrochemical & Refined Products Services segment operates propylene fractionation and related activities, including 800 miles of pipelines; butane isomerization complex and related deisobutanizer units; and octane enhancement and high purity isobutylene production facilities. It also operates approximately 4,100 miles of refined products pipelines; and terminals, as well as provides refined products marketing and marine transportation services. The company was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
