The Merch Planning Analyst is an operational position that is responsible for supporting the weekly enterprise forecast. It is a cross functional role that supports many different departments including Planning, MIO, MAT, Finance, and Supply Chain.
The Merch Planning Analyst will work directly with the Divisional Planners in a support capacity on analysis / projects, and Senior Management when necessary for analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and validate all documents for weekly executive meetings
Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Reporting
Partner with Business Units and Team Member
Prepare all documents for Wednesday prelim Arthur meeting
Prepare Executive documents with corresponding inserts for weekly Arthur meeting
Validate all weekly executive documents and inserts for accuracy
Make recommendations on how to improve the overall process
Create and update weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports – class plans, MD summary, planning timeline
Recommend how to improve efficiency and accuracy of reports
Recommend which reports are no longer needed/which additional reports could be added based on business needs
Support ad hoc requests from Business Units and Team Member
Conduct special projects for Senior LeadershipPartner with team members to support any ad hoc requests from business units or Senior Leadership
Experience:
Superior financial and analytical capabilities
Thorough understanding of the statistical/financial relationships and elements of the retail business
Works efficiently and effectively to meet aggressive deadlines
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Advanced in Microsoft Excel
Proficient in Oracle MFP or other retail planning software
Strong communication and organizational skills
