Michelin, the Worldwide leader in Tires, is hiring!
Within Michelin North America, the Connected Mobility Team in Greenville SC is responsible for developing new digitally-enabled service offers for truck fleets, as well as Proof-of-Concept studies with fleet customers to demonstrate the value and feasibility of the technology.
The Connected Mobility Team has an opening for an Internet-of-Things (IOT) Device Specialist, responsible for integrating enabling technology, such as sensors and other connected devices, into new offer development projects.
He or she does both conceptual and hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting on cross-functional offer development teams within the Michelin Connected Mobility Organization, designs experiments to evaluate component or system performance and then summarizes and presents the results. Key offers under development currently involve Radio Frequency Identification and Tire Air Pressure & Temperature Monitoring.
He or she also co-animates an IOT Lab located in Donaldson Center in Greenville SC, which is a shared resource to explore and develop technological enablers for current & future offers.
We are looking for an individual with:
Initiative, creativity, and proven analytical skills
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, computer science or related field
3+ years of experience working with digitally connected electro-mechanical devices
KEY ACTIVITIES
In addition to being a local technical expert for the set-up, operation & trouble-shooting of connected offers and devices, as a technical member of a connected mobility start-up organization he/she is expected to have or quickly develop a basic fluency with:
Customer empathy, value propositions, and customer feedback,
Statistics and data analyses and how to communicate them,
Programming for data analysis or for simple applications,
Business model development & validation,
The principles and practices of an intrapreneurial lean start-up.
