Job Description
Basic Function
The quality manager will champion, support or lead quality expectations and improvement initiatives, monitors and advises on quality systems performance. This position may support and supervise quality lab technicians.
Roles & Responsibilities
General
Ensure that the components of the Quality Systems are in place, maintained and effective.
Develop the Quality goals and targets in the organization’s strategic plan.
Provide leadership in the areas of Quality Tools, Methods & Strategies.
Serve as a direct liaison with customers in the area of Quality.
Drive the nonconformance process for internal customers, external customers, and suppliers.
Work with operations concerning disposition of nonconforming materials in the Compound Division.
Conduct Investigations and return material authorizations for non-conforming product at a Compound customer's location.
Manage and supervise the Quality Department in the Compound Division.
All other duties not specifically assigned.
Area of Expertise, Requirements
Statistical training, Quality Tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP), Corrective Action Tools, Computer (Excel, Word, Statistical), SPC, Capability Studies, DOEs, Lead Auditor’s Certificate, Regression Analysis, Graphical Analysis, Gage R&R, Measurement System Analysis, Interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers.
Min. Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor Degree (4 year degree in technical related field) preferred
Work Experience
Minimum 7 plus years’ experience in Supervisory and or management experience in a quality lab/quality system position.
Desired Experience as a Certified Quality Engr or Six Sigma BB
