Summary (About this Position):

The Aptiv Connection Systems Team is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the North America Program Management Team.  The successful candidate will be a part of the Consumer Connectivity product portfolio. The successful candidate will lead the design team and manufacturing through the development process of new media modules. The Project Manager will oversee initial plans, set milestones, track project activities and communicate project progress to stakeholders.  The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to establish working relationships within Aptiv and acting as the main contact with customers.

Your Role (i.e. Key Job Responsibilities):

Business/Project Execution:

Responsible to achieve flawless launches (i.e. full ownership to deliver programs on-time, with quality and in-charge of profitability)

Acts as the program life cycle owner; brings strategy and holistic approach

Drives appropriate reviews and escalations, risk identification and mitigation, removes roadblocks

Cost and Budget:

Responsible to support achievement of profitability for their assigned business which includes working closely with Directors, profit management

Secures appropriation requests’ approvals on time for project execution

Customer/Supplier Relationships:

Acts as the customer contact for regular management communication and escalation

Responsible for multiple customers and complex product

Responsible for understanding customer technology roadmap and building relationships with key customers

Support in customer management (especially in critical situations) – works on win-win solutions

New Business:

Supports new business development activities

Reviews and modifies the proposed staffing plans

Continuous Improvement:

Supports enterprise effectiveness / efficiency and lean functional excellence by Lean / I&CIM techniques

Compliance:

Responsible for complying to standards, policies and procedures, PDP requirements

Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Your Required Background (i.e. Must Haves):

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

3+ years of project/program management experience

Demonstrated knowledge of project management systems

Automotive industry experience

Your Preferred Background (i.e. Nice to Haves):

Master's degree in Engineering Management or MBA

PMP Certification

Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)

Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics

Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment

Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team

Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently

Strong presence, poise and persuasiveness to establish a high level of credibility quickly
