• Installs, tests and repairs new and reworked TechnipFMC products (equipment and tools)

• Handles customer comments, requests and complaints

• Provides sales support ensuring the customer is fully informed of all aspects of the job

• Completes Field Service Orders (FSO) and Field Spare Parts Tickets (FSPT) and accountable for the timely submission of these and other revenue generating documents

• Assures all quality issues and documentation (equipment and procedural defects) is communicated and sent back to Company's Service Management

• Completes field documentation after the completion of each service job

• Provides Project Support as required, handles project issues as they arise which eliminates downtime

• Prepares and completes safety related documentation. Pursues safe work practices.

• May mentor or instruct less experienced team members and/or customers in and out of the field

• Attend relevant training courses related to specific discipline.

• Responsible to make sound technical decisions based on logical reasoning and analysis.

• Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, have a strict adherence to procedures/processes mindset for technical and policy compliance.

• Responsible for accurately filling Field Service Orders (FSO) and Field Spare Parts Tickets (FSPT), and accountable for the timely submission of these and other revenue generating documents.

• Excellent planning is a must for the successful performance of the duties of this position.

• Technicians working at this level are also responsible for safeguarding TechnipFMC property and the safety of all personnel designated to perform that assignment. 

• Technicians at this level are considered leads and required to train, mentor, and instruct members of their field service team when on assignment and are responsible for job site as TechnipFMC’s job site supervisor.

• Generally characterized as an "Independent Contributor," with ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to business problems uncovered during course of performing assignments.

• Detailed instructions are provided for difficult or unusual assignments.

• Proactively provides input into technical decisions being made.

• Professionally handles project issues as they arise which eliminates downtime.

• Typically, will interface with departmental staff, supervisory and lower level management, and outside customers.

• Commitment to customer service is critical.

• In the field environment the Technician serves as the on-site supervisor to the TechnipFMC field service crew and is responsible for reporting back to subsea service management.

• No budgetary responsibility and No direct or indirect reports.

• Works independently to install, test and repair new and reworked TechnipFMC products (equipment and tools), insuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining TechnipFMC owned assets. 

• Assures all equipment, service tooling and spare parts are on location and ready to use by performing inventories and function-fit tasks prior to beginning each job. 

• Records critical information such as dimensions, weights, temperatures, pressures and flow rates to ensure assembly/system will work per design and procedure requirements; also assists with the review of product testing, running and in some cases with assembly procedures.

• Completes more complex tasks in accordance with procedures and applicable codes and/or standards, offering guidance to less experienced personnel.

• Provides project support, as required, for all new projects which includes attending design review for equipment and tools, reviewing installation procedures, assisting with project Factory Acceptance Tests and reviewing project training requirements for service personnel.

• Establishes and maintains communication with Customer Representative on issues including job installation/testing procedures, equipment, tooling and spare parts requirements, equipment and tooling function-fit and critical technical data (dimensions, measurements, weights, temperature, pressures and flow rates).

• Provides sales support through quality customer interface via excellent communication by ensuring the customer is fully informed of all aspects of the job before, during and after successful/unsuccessful tasks. 

• Completes Field Non-Conformance Reports (FNCR) as product and procedural problems are encountered.  Assures all quality issues and documentation (equipment and procedural defects) is communicated and sent back to TechnipFMC Service Management.

• Completes field documentation (Daily, Service, End-of-Well and other required reports) after the completion of each service job. 

• Maintains technical information readily available (Tally Book or other forms) to communicate general procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions as well as customer questions, concerns and complaints.

• Prepares and completes safety related documentation (Job Safety Analysis, incident, and other required reports) consistently for the purpose of heighten safety awareness and accident prevention. 

• Understands and follows all TechnipFMC and customer safety requirements. 

• Proactively pursues safe work practices and participates in safety training.

• Proactively pursues the attainment of new technical training and skills for the purpose of advancing and updating knowledge and competence.

• Trains, mentors, and instructs members of the field service team when on assignment.

 
You are meant for this job if

High school diploma or equivalent technical diploma
Minimum 3 year of experience in field service technician role
Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following fields: electrical; subsea equipment; hydraulics equipment; mechanical equipment and tools; structural steel
Ability to read and understand drawings
Able to perform moderate complex calculations
Ability to use and understand technical tools and instruments required to perform basic troubleshooting
Knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted internal business processes and procedures.
Valid driver’s license required.
Valid passport required.
Basic written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to receive, interpret, understand, and respond to verbal messages and other cues in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is important.
Ability to receive constructive feedback and coaching, and respond appropriately.
Ability to provide accurate information regarding routine questions and/or provide assistance in identifying additional resources for more complex issues.
