Job Description

Here's how a Module Foreman for our Denver District Shakes Project in Carrizo Springs, Texas contributes to our team:

Responsible for leading installation of PV modules, bolting, and connecting solar panels to existing mechanical assemblies
Offer feedback to superintendent during and at the completion of job
Leads installation for modules inclusive of layout, construction, and assembly.
Uses skills developed to work safely, efficiently, and correctly
Demonstrates Journeyman Module Installation Skill Level
Production/Productivity units, rates and reporting

Utilizes daily task planning tools
Understands production rates and the factors influencing
Demonstrates ability to consistently improve productivities of crews led
Ability to manage labor budgets per cost code / task
Finds and implements ways to improve installation and install times.

Finalizes timecards with correct cost codes and hours using PCL’s Mobile Time Entry (MTE) application daily
Highly proficient in blueprint reading

Understands submittals & shop drawings
Understands RFI’s and how to incorporate into plans
Confident in EPR/iPad plan reading & navigation
Uses plan sets to determine proper locations, sizes, and installation of racking installation.
Ability to read shop and manufacturer installation manuals.

Previous experience in bi-facial, mono, or poly modules
Works directly with field engineers ensuring drawings and submittal updates are incorporated into field construction
Provides expertise in material management, including inventory monitoring, ordering/re-ordering and placement

Monitors on-site material inventory status and notifies Superintendent of needs in advance to ensure crew production remains uninterrupted.
Includes attachments materials, racking, misc. consumables, etc.

Leads/directs a crew of employees for tasks and duties to be performed

Sets clear expectations for safety, quality and productivity of all tasks
Monitors crew progress toward set expectations

Tool management, inventory control & reporting

Monitors on-site equipment inventory on a daily, monthly, or an as needed basis in comparison to project records
Proactively ensures security of all PCL tools and equipment

Daily and continuous crew safety planning, documentation, and implementation of safe work practices

JHA and PSI documents are updated as necessary
Ability to fill out a basic JHA as well as review other trades JHA’s – at a minimum has input to the process
Intricate component of the Zero Goal jobsite safety culture
Attends and contributes at weekly All Hands Tailgate Meetings

Understands and contributes to PCL Quality Control Program

Assists with managing quality control of not only PCL self-perform work but also subcontractor work
Works with the superintendent to understand what items to look out for and understand even if they don’t know the complete scope of subcontractor work
Understands how to fill out various QC inspection forms as needed to assist the project team in project completion

Participation & Employee Training

Actively attends and participates in District Foreman meetings and the associated training.
Attends and participates in District Staff Training, when invited - especially training requirements regarding leading and treatment of employees (Leading People, Diversity & Inclusion, Anti-Harassment, etc.)

 

What you will bring to the role:

2-5 years’ experience at a Journeyman Skill Level
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Demonstrates leadership skills for a crew of minimum 3-4 individuals
Ability to clearly communicate before a group with confidence.
Ability to write reports using good grammar, spelling and punctuation.
First Aid/CPR, Advanced Stormwater and OSHA 30-hour training, preferred.
Safe use of Hand & Power tools.
Highly proficient in blueprint reading
Understands submittals & shop drawings
Understands RFI’s and how to incorporate into plans
Confident in EPR/iPad plan reading & navigation
Positive attitude and desire to continuously improve skills while teaching others
Familiar with field concepts, practices and procedures
Ability to multi-task, show initiative and ask questions
Self-motivated and a team player
Ability to follow directions to ensure completion of daily tasks
Have a high degree of flexibility in changing weather conditions
Must have reliable transportation
High regard for safety and pride for quality of work
Ability to operate light equipment is helpful, not required
Willing to relocate to project locations
Ability to consistently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, from the ground to waist level
Ability to navigate through the worksite daily
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolding, and stairs – occasionally
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and under pressure.
