Scope:

The Solutions Developer is a key role working within a highly collaborative and Agile team toward the design and development of business-critical solutions ranging from software, data analysis, business intelligence, and automation.  This role has two important functions.  First and foremost, this role will serve as a developer on the Americas development team focusing on large-scale development. For the remainder, this role will function as both a liaison and training resource contributing to the technical advancement of the regional development team. A successful developer will take the processes, best practices, tools, and techniques applied on the Americas-development team and share them with the regional team to drive greater consistency and increased capability with our regional development teams.

Responsibilities:

Americas Development Team (70% allocation; Primary Role: Developer)

Build, analyze and test programs and products before formal release
Developing using company and team standards
Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive team
Participate in solution design and requirements gathering
Collaborate with the self-organizing development team to determine the best methods to deliver working data and/or software solutions
Accountable to the team to deliver fully functional and tested software in every program increment
Practices SCRUM and continually seeks out opportunities to improve the development lifecycle
Provide training sessions on tools, technology and process to Americas Solutions team

Regional Team (30% allocation; Primary Role: Training and Project Support)

Provide ongoing team training on tools, technologies and standards
Guide and support strategic regional development projects
Uphold Cybersecurity and Corporate IS development processes
Support team with technical project reviews and planning
Facilitate creation of team development standards

Qualifications

Bachelor degree or higher in the area of IS, data analytics or computer science
Experience with Expeditors Systems is preferred
Work effectively with a cross functional team of piers
Self-assigns work as necessary to meet the team’s commitments
Ability to clearly communicate and present to small and large groups
Experience with Microsoft Excel (i.e., formulas, pivot tables and VBA/macros)
Experience with database development (i.e., Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, UML Diagrams)
Experience with coding/programming (i.e., Python, JavaScript, Angular, HTML, CSS)
Experience with code versioning and CI/CD (i.e. Git, GitLab)
Experience with business intelligence platforms (i.e., Inetsoft, Power BI)
