Job Description


As the GIS Data Management Administrator, you will support day-to-day operations of large contracts to ensure that company requirements are met.  Assist in the coordination of special project definition and implementation. Serve as subject matter expert on GIS data entry procedures. Provide detailed response to data entry queries submitted by contract vendors. Provide continual review and revision of documented procedures for GIS data entry. Assist in assessing contractor effectiveness.  Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and coordinate implementation of approved process changes. Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Coordinate initial setup of new contractors with access to appropriate systems, and coordinates all aspects of maintaining accounts (extended expiration dates, permissions and roles, deletion, etc.)
Monitor turnaround dates for work performed by contractors and ensures compliance with agreed-upon service levels
Monitor and ensures routine work and non-routine project turnaround times are met.
Actively assesses and ensures quality of work performed through QA/QC reviews, reporting, and interaction with internal clients.
Serve as a primary contact with GIS clients on queries related to digitizing standards.
Identify problems, issues, and risks involved in routine work; and participates in the identification, documentation and communication of solutions.
Identify and evaluates opportunities for improved efficiencies, cost reductions and service improvements.
Establish standards for contractor digitizing work. Continually review and communicate updated digitizing procedures.
Participate in process design and process improvement initiatives.
Plan, schedule, track and leads activities required for successful completion of ongoing and special projects.
Provide training of on-site contract resources on new digitizing techniques and requirements.
Perform assigned duties in the Emergency Operation Plan (EOP) as designed by CenterPoint Energy.
Utilize IBM FileNet and CNP Work Order Tracking System (WOTS) for loading and tracking project data submitted by clients.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

'Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, GIS, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, In lieu of education four (4) years of direct experience with technical or business area featuring extensive use of GIS technology.
Requires a minimum 4 years of experience in Technical or business area featuring extensive use of GIS technology

Preferred

PowerBI experience 

Working Environment:

Able to operate office equipment.
Able to view a personal computer/monitor for extended periods of time.
Able to operate a motor vehicle unassisted.
Able to communicate in a clear manner.
Able to exert 20 or less of force occasionally and or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Physical Requirments:
