Our Operations team has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer candidate out of Asssumption, IL.

 

Your Impact:

Develop and implement industry leading processes focused on Lean manufacturing principles and leading technology within GSI North America.  To include modeling systems for capacity, capability and cost analysis
Manage process improvement projects to optimize  overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) attainment and eliminate waste
Develop North America technology roadmaps and standardization of equipment and processes

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field preferred
Advanced knowledge in the development of standardized production processes and Lean management principles
Five years equipment manufacturing experience  (product engineering experience preferred)
In-depth knowledge of Engineering documentation and MRP systems
Comprehensive experience and knowledge of Product Manufacturing, Design, and Engineering in metal industry
Proven track record in project management and structures to support
Able to identify, analyze in a structured way and find practical solutions to ongoing process issues.
Proven ability to oversee / manage multiple complex projects
Have the capacity to convert functional process specifications into pilot and industrialized equipment to meet needs
Effective oral and written English communication skills

Safety Responsibilities

Comply with all safety rules, policies and procedures.
Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective PPE.
Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage.
Participate in the site Safety and Health Program.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports.

Work Environment

This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the work environment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
