Job Description
What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to develop and implement plans for highly complex and financially significant major capital improvements and maintenance projects for our Distribution and Logistics facilities.
This position provides project management for cross-disciplinary engineering functions, including operating budgets, project measurements, and control for capability, efficiency, quality, timelines and safety.
What you’ll do:
Manage the development, assessment and implementation of highly complex techniques and equipment used in distribution processes to maximize the efficiency of the operations.
Provide plans, projects and design systems that increase productivity by improving the integration of people, materials, systems, equipment and finance.
Research, recommend and implement more efficient and safer distribution processes using new, existing or modified machinery, equipment or systems.
Manage the research, recommendations and implementation of changes to work methods, materials, machinery, manpower allocation and safety measures for projects of high complexity and financial significance.
Manage facility-level engineering staff.
Lead the design, programming, simulation, testing and implementation of automated machinery and processes to complete exact tasks.
Lead facility projects with the technical skills for automation and adherence to automation standards and specifications.
Manage maintenance and other reporting systems completed by engineering staff. Supervise the development, implementation and maintenance of facility-wide cost modeling applications.
What you have:
Bachelor’s in Engineering required. Masters preferred
At least 8 eight years of experience in Industrial Engineering
History of success leading highly complex projects, including those with large financial impact
Six Sigma and LEAN experience in a distribution environment preferred
Experience in automation and robotics in a distribution environment
Proficiency in MS Project and other system software and databases

Communicating with Senior Management and a wide range of internal and external customers, including in high-conflict situations.
Challenging established practices, selling new ideas, and exercising good judgment to resolve problems in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
Mentoring others and leading diverse teams to achieve results.
Designing and maintaining Industrial Engineering databases of high complexity at a facility or multiple warehouse levels (AS400 and SAP)
Great technical, mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
