?This job is a member of the Operations Planning and Performance Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
?Responsible for key analytical and decision support resource for Operations Planning and Performance.
What you'll do
Helps improve operational performance of the airline by developing advanced analytical solutions for complex business problems using quantitative techniques and models
Builds and maintains hi-fidelity simulation models, and/or statistical and machine-learning models to evaluate, prescribe and promote operational efficiencies within the airport, airspace, and ATC environments
Assists with the flight schedule development, design and evaluation process by developing quantitative tools that address operational efficiency and robustness
Supports the development and use of advanced analytics for the Integrated Operations Control (IOC) department through quantitative and qualitative analysis of business problems, model prototyping, development of recommendations, and quantification of benefits
Crafts compelling stories based on logical recommendations to provide actionable insights that drive informed decisions for a variety of operations-related problems
Communicates effectively with stakeholders across the company and promote data-driven decision making
Interfaces with IT, related business departments, and outside vendors to ensure coordinated planning, evaluation and implementation of new decision support capabilities
Researches current practices and industry trends and keep abreast of latest advances in analytic techniques and IT solutions to solve complex airline business problems
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative discipline (Operations Research, Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Applied Statistics, or a related field)
In-depth knowledge and strong background in one or more of the following specialized areas:
Advanced optimization modelling methods (LPs, MIPs, etc.) and experience building large-scale models using FICO Xpress, ILOG CPLEX, or similar
Building simulation models using AirTOP, SIMMOD, Arena, SIMIO or similar
Statistical and machine-learning techniques and experience in applying predictive analytics to practical business problems
Strong background in programming and modeling languages (Java and SAS, R or Python)
Experience with extraction, cleansing and analysis of large datasets to identify key trends and insights
Experience using data visualization software (Tableau or similar) to explore and analyze data
Excellent interpersonal, relational, and communication skills (both oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Domain knowledge in the airline industry or other transportation-related field
Familiarity with Big Data methodology, technology and related data query tools
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL, etc.
Strong business acumen, technical learning/innovation mindset and a drive for results
Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and as a team member, handle multiple assignments and respond efficiently to changing priorities
