Job Description
Responsibilities:
To drive delivery of profit and cash flow commitments and motivate improvement in business performance across the global Advanced Materials business.
To provide incisive insight, analysis, and challenge of financial and business performance to enable the business to respond rapidly to changing market dynamics and competition, maximizing short term profits while ensuring delivery of longer-term strategies.
To support business development projects.
In close collaboration with the VP Finance drive delivery of profit commitments and financial targets across the business while ensuring cash flow for the business is maximized.
Establish and implement robust strategic and operational KPI’s to monitor and promote delivery of business objectives, utilizing available MIS tools to full potential.
Ensure delivery of accurate, timely and relevant business information to enable the business to respond rapidly to changing market dynamics and competition to maximize short term profits. Proactively ensure senior management is informed of performance expectations and understand business drivers and uses appropriate business intelligence tools.
Support the Integrated Business Planning process for the global Advanced Materials business to ensure alignment of operational, financial and strategic plans
Use financial decision making tools and analysis to investigate and recommend actions to address value problems and assess value opportunities in line with business strategy.
Support the value assessment of major business development and investment projects to ensure adequate return.
Knowledge, experience and skills required:
Education:
Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical business and its market complexities.
A degree in Finance or an MBA to provide the required business analytical skills.
A good and in-depth understanding of reading and understanding financial statements.
5-8 years of relevant experience gained in a variety of finance and other positions.
