Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will work across departments to ensure new programs are completed on time while continuously improving existing processes. The position will work closely with Design Engineering and Production in bringing out new programs including work instructions, manufacturing orders, and training.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with teams to propose and implement manufacturing processes and workflow layouts based on customer requirements using appropriate software
Work with production and facility personnel to optimize equipment, develop tooling, and work-bench layouts to meet manufacturing, company, and customer needs
Interpret customer engineering databases (drawings, specifications, and processes)
Coordinate engineering changes with internal and customer teams and assure entry into engineering and MRP databases (Syteline)
Support production, planning, production control, procurement, and quality personnel in interpretation of engineering into work orders as required
Support non-conformance rework/repair with manufacturing process recommendations and consult with customer and internal team members as required
Support planning, production, and programming to implement and optimize machining set-ups and programs
Identify automation opportunities and implement process improvements.

Required Skills:
Excellent computer skills including a high degree of skill in Excel

Basic knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (i.e., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems)
Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools, or assemblies
Understanding of workflow, to include parts flow through machining, surface processing, and assembly; ability to optimize factory workflow through analysis of machine and work-bench layout, tooling set-ups, scheduling, and staging
Knowledge of statistical control, lean, and continuous improvement methods in manufacturing environment
Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data, summarize findings, and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
Blueprint reading skills, appropriate math skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written.
Attention to detail; willingness to learn, and as required, help and/or train others
Required Experience and Education
BS / BA in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Computer Aided Design; Solidworks (preferred), Catia
