Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for the evaluation and implementation of data engineering technology, tools, and frameworks leveraging the Integration platform and cloud services supporting WestRock’s integrations investments. This position helps to drive strategic vision for EDI and B2B integrations within WestRock, establish best practices in Integration technologies, and develop self-servicing tools. The responsibilities also include maintaining the health of infrastructure that supports integrations.

  

How you will impact WestRock:

Build and maintain webMethods Integration platforms and services.
Define mapping requirements.
Develop and support complex interfaces between internal business systems using various adapters, file based mechanisms, batch and real-time processing.
Develop EDI maps and setup new Trading Partners.
Create EDI transaction testing scenarios, perform testing and partner onboarding.
Work with trading partners to establish connectivity and test EDI documents.
Coordinate with ERP/O2C teams to test and integrate documents for new partners.
Setup middle-ware configurations for data routing.
Work with backend application teams to complete EDI setups.
Troubleshoot configuration issues, mapping errors , EDI compliance errors and data issues
On call production support

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Industrial Engineering & Management - Information Systems.
5-7 years' experience with Software AG products such as: Integration Server/Trading Networks; Broker Server/Universal Messaging; Business Process Management Suite (BPMS); Adapters; MWS; TN Console; Deployer; WebMethods flow/Java services and configuration.
Thorough understanding of EDI structures and looping concepts
Experience of setting up/configuring partner profiles, trading partner agreement, processing rules in MWS
Familiarity of ANSI X12, EDIFact, cXML supply chain transactions
Experience with VANs, understanding of communication protocols such as FTP, SFTP, FTPS AS2, etc.
Familiarity of IDOC standards
Experience with adapters such as JDBC, MQ, SAP, etc.
Excellent communication skills to articulate the solution vision to senior leadership 
Professional proficiency with the MS suite of products (Word, Excel, PPT, Visio, Project)
Being self-directed, fast-paced, collaborative, and results-oriented
Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a global enterprise.
Ability to work under tight deadlines at a fast pace.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
