POSITION SUMMARY:
Assesses and identifies patient status and implements appropriate interventions based on the level of patient need and the Emergency Department scope of service. Collaborates and communicates effectively with all healthcare team members. Establishes and provides efficient nursing care, including the ability to competently perform technical aspects of care. Ensures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems. Utilizes critical thinking, and previously demonstrated nursing procedures and assessments to help guide patients and families through all stages of the patient’s healthcare journey.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE ABLE TO:
Provide comprehensive, compassionate, connected patient care utilizing evidenced based practice.
Perform initial and ongoing assessments and apply nursing insight to assist in the on-going care planning process.
Communicate patient needs or changes in condition to the physician and team members.
Accurately document all care and coordination of care for each episode.
Work collaboratively with all clinicians, staff and physicians; fostering patient centered, positive and healthy relationships.
Ensure the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity with all aspects of communication, risk management and regulatory requirements.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree in Nursing, required. Bachelor Degree, preferred.
1+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
Current license as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky.
Current BLS | Basic Life Support, required
Current ACLS (preferred) | Advanced Cardiac Life Support, required within 6 months of hire.
Current PALS (preferred) | Pediatric Advanced Life Support, required within 6
months of hire.
