Job Summary
This senior level position provides analysis, builds queries and reports, and prepares Land data in order to deliver Land and technical support for Application and System development and maintenance, Acquisitions and Divestitures, Data Requests, Lease Payments, and Joint Ventures.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Advanced understanding of basic Land process workflows and functions, specifically those surrounding lease, ownership, and interest data
• Collaborate with customers, including Land Management, to determine reporting needs; ability to execute reports in a timely and efficient manner. Customers are defined as Land staff and CHK staff in other groups Land supports.
• Applicable working knowledge of data tables for utilization in Land reporting
• Utilization of PowerBI and SQL to build and generate ad hoc and regularly scheduled reports
• Basic working knowledge of all critical Land systems and their underlying database structures for utilization in Land reporting
• Basic understanding of applicable GIS layers and data and how the information can be utilized in Land reporting
• Develop, implement, maintain and process quality control (QC) reports for Land; utilization of company tools and systems to ensure completeness and accuracy of reports
• Manage Land metric reporting needs; includes working with Land teams to determine best way to report data with respect to department and team goals
• Understand access levels of E&P Land systems and grant access based on appropriate level
• Understanding of how to perform mass updates to land records, includes having a broad knowledge of how performing such updates can impact end users and other systems
• Analyze and interpret Land capital spending reports received from Accounting
• Utilize various systems and reports to research questions/issues regarding spending from customers
• Collaborate with end users and provide support for CHK's accounting system and serve as IT liaison for system errors, new functions, and updates
• Provide training for Division Order department in large audience settings on system improvements, change in process, software, etc.
Job Specific Skills
• Advanced understanding of Land practices and terminology including but not limited to lease terms, identifying ownership information, acreage terminology, and lease and well statuses
• Understand advanced working interest and net revenue interest calculations and conveyances affecting same
• Ability to read, interpret and explain terms of partner agreements
• Complete working knowledge of and the ability to support the company’s Land systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced application issues with users
• Advanced understanding of basic Land process workflows and functions, specifically those surrounding lease data
• Understand access levels of E&P land systems and SOX guidelines for permissions access
• Ability to read, understand, implement and maintain Land Service Agreements (LSA’s) with vendors
Education
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Energy Management or MIS
Experience
Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
