Position Summary

The Senior Category Leadership Advisor is responsible for leveraging a broad set of analytical tools and resources to distill insights and develop strategic category recommendations that will enable category growth for the customer.  The Senior Category Leadership Advisor leverages category- customer and market knowledge to maximize category and Kraft Heinz sales- gains customer alignment by developing and delivering focused- insights-based space and assortment selling stories- and maintains on-going dialogue with the customer around results and recommended strategies.

The Senior Category Leadership Advisor is the unbiased expert on key Kraft Heinz categories- customers’ shoppers- insight development- efficient assortment and optimal shelf placement.  The Senior Category Leadership Advisor identifies opportunities and addresses both the retailer’s and the shopper’s needs through the integration of research (primary and secondary)- analysis- insights- reporting and presentation.  The Senior Category Leadership Advisor is an expert in syndicated and panel tools including HH panel- IRi- Numerator and other resources.  The Senior Category Leadership Advisor can apply and integrate buying dynamics such as purchase frequency- buy rate- buyer conversion and category leakage to consumer and shopper research to develop business-building recommendations and category growth strategies.  The Senior Category Leadership Advisor can conduct assortment analysis and SKU optimization using syndicated tools and can create best-in-class planograms utilizing space management software.  

Primary Responsibilities

Unbiased expert on key Kraft Heinz categories- category drivers- customers and customer’s shoppers 
Identify root causes of customer issues and opportunities and deliver compelling stories- strategies and recommendations to drive action with the customer
Expert in leveraging multiple inputs including syndicated data- retailer POS- household panel data and macro level consumer reports that support business recommendations and actions on the key controllables of shelving- assortment- distribution- pricing- promotion and aisle strategy
Develops and integrates consumer- shopper and retailer insights to better inform targeted strategies- action plans and decisions
Leads broader space initiatives and strategies across aisle and store- partnering and collaborating with cross functional teams internally and with the customer
Understands and applies best-practice category management principles and processes  
Conducts assortment assessments and creates planograms for assigned categories and customers 
Implements best in class shelving principles and standards 
Applies the full suite of tools against business issues. 

Qualifications

2-4 years consumer package goods industry experience 
Previous category management experience is preferred
Strong analytic- strategic thinking and problem solving capability 
Strong syndicated and panel data knowledge 
Space management software skills 
Good project management and training skills 
Ability to comprehend and sell space management concepts within the context of category management 
Strong personal computer skills especially Microsoft Office products 
Solid written / oral communication and interpersonal skills 
Minimum Bachelor’s degree
