Function Overview:

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Procurement Sourcing Specialist opening to join our Global Strategic Sourcing organization.  In this role, you will develop and manage the business relationships between Whirlpool and assigned suppliers supporting Chemicals & Resins (Contract negotiations / Supplier issue resolution / Supplier cost reductions / (Purchase Order) PO creation and Management) as well as manage the daily operations.  You will support the development of the North American and Global purchasing strategies for assigned Chemicals & Resins subcategories, Support regional operations, Lead / Support Business Partner needs within assigned subcategories, Identify, develop and execute projects for your assigned subcategories, understanding the financial impact of the activity and the overall impact on Whirlpool financials, Develop and maintain systems related to supplier performance in addition to key relationships with internal customers, Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery and analyze price proposals, financial reports and other information to determine competitive prices and viable suppliers.  You will also lead continuous improvement activities surrounding Chemicals & Resins materials with the goal of enhancing Whirlpool’s cost leadership and product leadership. This function is responsible for identifying, developing, managing, and coordinating suppliers to meet company goals in regards to quality, delivery, and cost.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead sourcing activities for assigned suppliers and product categories within Chemicals & Resins space
Manage supplier relationships including leading RFQs, quote analysis, and market testing to drive cost leadership
Drive and support cross-functional engagement with project management, supply assurance, supplier quality, and target cost management on projects as needed
Lead and/or support supplier negotiations including contract negotiations

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of Purchasing, Procurement, Engineering or Supply Chain experience
2+ years of Project Management experience

Preferred Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple key activities
Demonstrated practical use of supplier management and sourcing principles
Ability to establish and build strong relationships with suppliers and process partners
Experience with Excel (Pivot Tables/Formulas) and Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Proven negotiation, conflict resolution, and management skills
Strong analytical and computer-related skills
