DESCRIPTION
The Business Team Lead (BTL) - Ferndale Refinery is responsible for the supervision, administrative duties, training, and performance of the operations team, including direct responsibility for shift supervisors, operations coordinators, and second line supervision for Field Equipment Operators (FEOs), and Process Console Operators (PCOs). The incumbent in this role is representing management, responsible for directing and coordinating unit operations to accomplish safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant operation in addition to achieving the business plan objectives. This position is also responsible to ensure resources, equipment, and work processes are in place to maintain compliance with Phillips 66 required standards and regulatory policies
Responsibilities May Include
Ensuring all Process Safety Management requirements are met
Understanding and ensuring compliance with all environmental responsibilities and requirements
Optimizing and auditing resource allocation within the Area to ensure near term and long-term priorities are established, maintained, and delivered upon
Accountability for achieving daily/weekly run-plan, STOP, LRP, & product quality specifications
Managing, developing, training, and motivating area employees
Influencing and remaining accountable for routine and turnaround maintenance (planning/support/execution)
Developing and implementing cash operating expense budget (operations and maintenance) in a way that ensures continuous improvement in cost effectiveness of the operation
Developing and monitoring area performance metrics
Analyzing operations to generate ideas and opportunities for unit optimization
Demonstrating ownership for and driving reliability improvements in the area
Screening capital budget and strategic ideas; providing continuous oversight to ensure priorities are maintained and objectives are met
Reviewing and approving designs in accordance with Phillips 66 work processes
Taking guidance from the Refinery Leadership Team (RLT)
Networking with other area managers and department supervisors to share best practices and align key work processes
Securing and leveraging expert resources towards prompt and sustainable resolution of operating problems
Leading the area safety team and overall safety performance of assigned area
Serving as temporary operations manager delegate as necessary
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
High School diploma or GED
7 or more years of experience in refining
3 or more years of supervisory experience
Working knowledge of PSM
Possess a valid Driver’s License
