About the role:
The Kraken Internal Audit team is looking to hire a Compliance and Risk auditor as we continue to build out our function. This role will work closely with Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Fraud Operations as well as various stakeholders throughout the organization. The position reports into the Global Head of Internal Audit and will work cross functionally with other members of the audit team as necessary. As the Compliance and Risk auditor, you will be responsible for owning and managing key monitoring responsibilities while aligning with Kraken’s culture and driving company success through performing the following tasks:
What you'll do:
Develop and implement risk-based audit programs around various financial crime frameworks (AML, BSA, Anti-bribery, OFAC Sanctions etc.)
Perform and support audits in the areas of third-party risk, finance, and risk management as needed.
Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the overall control environment.
Monitor management’s implementation of control measures and follow up on remediation plans.
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of business areas, its products, and supporting functions.
Communicate and report on the effectiveness of the firm’s governance, risk management and controls that mitigate current and evolving risks.
Ability to understand and challenge various compliance/risk programs and policies, including through testing and monitoring.
Serve as a thought leader throughout the organization and strive for continuous improvement.
Stay abreast of laws, rules, and regulations impacting financial institutions to ensure the regulatory risks are properly identified.
Draft and report audit findings and make recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations, and reducing costs.
Ensure that audit work conforms to Global Audit policies and procedures.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred. Professional designation (CIA, CAMS) preferred.
Strong investigative, quantitative and data analytic skills preferred.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a regulatory auditor in the Financial Services industry preferred. Crypto enthusiast a plus!
Experience auditing SOX key controls a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects, and to multi-task and operate under deadlines.
