About the role - you will:

This?job?requires a broader overall understanding of the new HAMR technology, including NFT (near-field transducer), reader, TM (thermal mechanical) as well as laser and LD (light delivery) system.? ? 

The engineer's main?job?is to focus on one subject area (NFT, reader, TM or LD) and work with the rest of the team to deliver generations of HAMR products.? 

Work with tech team to integrate best technology components to product design configs.? 

Work with wafer process team to carry out/track experiments to mature technology for product intercept.? 

Work with testing/FA team to define testing/FA needs for deeper recording physics understanding.?? 

Provide product feedback to tech/testing team, communicate to customer product recommendations.? 

Work with drive center counterparts to bring drive feedback to tech/testing/wafer/FA team to improve & mature current and future design/testing/wafer process requirements.? 

Participate in new test development for recording physics understand and align testing to meet product needs.? 

About you:

MS or PhD degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical engineering, Data Science, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other related area with 0-2 years of experience. 

Open to change in a fast-moving industry and adapt to it quickly while working well in a team-based environment 

Self-motivated and proactive, a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Demonstrates attention to detail. 

Your experience includes:

Experience in data-analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Excel) is a plus 

Experience in data mining, big data analytics, machine learning application data preparation and other analytics techniques.
