Responsibilities
Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Infrastructure and Quality teams.
Recruit and motivate a world-class software engineering team.
Be a key player in driving productivity for the Engineering organization.
Establish high technical standards through processes and culture.
Work closely with other teams in Engineering to improve productivity and product quality.
Mentor and coach engineers to help their career growth.
Define and implement a multi-year vision for the infrastructure and quality teams
Collaborate closely with the Field Engineering organization to improve deployment and overall customer experience.
Requirements
Experience with complex distributed systems that require scalability, reliability and flexibility.
10+ years of professional experience including 5+ years managing people.
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Technical depth to provide guidance on the solution of hard technical problems.
Experience with: Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools(e.g. CircleCI, Travis) | Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) | SQL/NoSQL databases | Kubernetes and Docker | Maven, Bazel, Gradle, or other modern build systems | Infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Packer
Ability to get up to speed quickly on new technologies such as Machine Learning, Spark, differential privacy.
Preferred
Experience with big data technologies like Spark and/or Hadoop.
Acquainted with and interested in functional programming (Haskell, OCaml, Clojure, Erlang, Scala)
Experience testing the results of statistical analysis, preferably machine learning.
Experience developing for on-premise enterprise deployments.
